New Delhi: PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite will not be available for users in India from today. Chinese company Tencent Games said on Friday that it is ending all services and access for Pubg mobile users in India. The company said that it is complying with the government order that came last month. On 2 September, India banned 118 mobile apps with Chinese connections. This included the popular game Pubg Mobile. The reasons behind this were attributed to data privacy concerns and threats to national security.
According to the Pubg Mobile India page, the right to publish Pubg Mobile in India will go back to the owner of Pubg Intellectual Property. Pubg Mobile is an action-themed online game developed by Pubg Corporation based in the South Company. Tencent has the right to publish the mobile version of the game in India.
Where there is a mobile version block in India, the website can still be accessed as it is operated by a South Korean company and is owned by the game. The company said that protecting user data is the biggest priority and they always follow the appropriate data protection laws and regulations in India.
