Lalu Yadav airlifted to AIIMS, New Delhi

Ranchi: Ailing former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD Supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on was sent in an air ambulance to AIIMS New Delhi on Saturday evening for better medical aid.

The medical board of RIMS had earlier recommended that Lalu Yadav be referred to a an advanced medical centre.

After the jail administration gave its nod, Lalu Prasad Yadav was taken to the Birsa Munda Airport under security cover and airlifted to AIIMS, New Delhi.

An eight-member medical board of RIMS after examining Mr Yadav’s health condition recommended his transfer to AIIMS, New Delhi.

On Friday various tests were performed on him including, echocardiogram, X-ray, USG KUBP and HRCT and other routine blood tests. He was also tested for pneumonia and covid.

Lalu Yadav was earlier diagnosed with pneumonia. Later the high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) revealed infection in lungs. He also underwent kidney, bladder, prostrate ultrasound scan (KUBP).

His said was being sent to AIIMS as his condition had declined.

On Friday evening, former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi along with her sons Tejaswi and Tejpratap had reached Ranchi and had spent nearly six hours with Lalu Yadav in the hospital.

Earlier, in the afternoon Mr Yadav’s son and leader of opposition in Bihar Tejaswi Yadav reached RIMS.
