It was wrong to impose a sudden lockdown, says Uddhav Thackeray

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday said that the imposition of the sudden lockdown was wrong and now it cannot be removed immediately. Amidst the escalation of Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra, Thackeray also said that one needs to be extremely vigilant in the coming rainy season (monsoon).

CM Thackeray further said – I have spoken to Union Minister of Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri. I can understand the need to start air travel service, but we need more time to prepare.

On Sunday, the Chief Minister said in a message broadcast on the state’s NAAM TV, the next 15 days are more important. A lot of people are expected to visit. In this case, cases will also increase. In such a situation, services will open slowly. We will not remove the lockdown now. We cannot say whether it will end after 31… There is a need to be more vigilant during the monsoon.

According to him, “imposing a sudden lockdown was wrong. It would be equally wrong to remove it immediately. This will be a double blow to our people. “Thackeray further said that the central government has helped a little but he will not do any political trolling. Let me tell you that Thackeray’s party Shiv Sena broke its old association with BJP last year.
