Mumbai: Shiv Sena has attacked the Modi government regarding the skyrocketing prices of petrol and diesel. Maharashtra’s ruling party Shiv Sena said that instead of collecting donations for the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the government should take steps to reduce the prices of petrol and diesel in the country so that the general public can get relief.
Shiv Sena questioned the silence of Bollywood actors on the rising fuel prices. Shiv Sena said in an editorial in the mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ that the reduction in prices of petrol and diesel will ensure that devotees of Lord Ram get food. Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has been formed to look after the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. A campaign to collect funds for the construction of the temple is going on.
Shiv Sena said that it is the responsibility of the government to control the price of essential commodities. Instead of collecting donations for the construction of Ram temple, bring down the prices of petrol and diesel. So that the Ram devotees will get food from it and Lord Ram will also be happy with it. Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to be blaming previous governments for the current increase in fuel prices.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that in the financial year 2019-20, India imported 85 percent of its oil needs while 53 percent of the gas needs were imported. Shiv Sena said that previous governments set up PSUs like Indian Oil, ONGC and Bharat Petroleum, but Modi is selling them and now blaming the previous governments for the increased fuel prices.
