Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has suffered a leg injury during the Nandigram campaign. After which, in a hurry, he went to the capital Kolkata and was admitted to the SSKM Hospital. The Election Commission (EC) has sought a detailed from the West Bengal chief secretary and its special observers in the state Ajay Nayak and Vivek Dubey, in regard to the incident in which chief minister Mamata Banerjee received leg injuries while campaigning in East Midnapore’s Nandigram.
Chief Minister Mamta said, “When she was near her car in Nandigram, some people pushed her, causing her leg to hurt. 4-5 people stopped the car altogether. He was very hurt. There was no one from the local police. There is definitely a conspiracy. This has been done intentionally. “
Meanwhile, West Bengal director general of police P. Nirajnayan also asked for a report from East Midnapore police superintendent on the chief minister’s injury. It is also being looked if there was security lapse, police sources said.
