India’s embarrassing defeat in Wellington Test

Wellington. In the first Test match played in Wellington, New Zealand has defeated India by 10 wickets. India were trailing by 183 runs in the second innings after being reduced to just 165 runs in the first innings. India failed to score big even in their second innings and the entire team managed only 191 runs and gave the Kiwi team the target of only nine runs to win which they achieved without losing any wickets. After the 0–3 defeat in the ODI series, the fans were hoping that the number one team of the World Test Championship would return but it did not happen. India started the fourth day with 144 runs at the loss of four wickets. She returned to the pavilion by adding 47 runs to her account, losing all the remaining six wickets. The veteran bowler of the team, R Ashwin, was expected to bat better but he was lbw on Saudi’s ball after scoring only four runs. Ishant and Pant tried to handle the innings and shared a 26-run stand but Ishant lbw to Colin de Grandhom. Pant also scored 25 off 41 balls and caught Trent Bolt on a Saudi ball. India lost the last wicket as Bumrah, who could not even open his account.
