Indian Exports at an All-Time-High: Piyush Goyal

The India International Trade Fair (IITF), according to Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, would promote the government’s “Aatma Nirbhar Bharat” objective and encourage its “Vocal for Local” philosophy.

The minister stated that India was at a “historical high of exports of products and services, and the world views India as a trusted global partner in sustaining global supply chains” as he opened the fair’s 40th edition.

Despite the shutdown, Mr Goyal stated that India has not failed to provide service assistance to the international community. The IITF will demonstrate that India is back in business, according to the minister.

The fair, which will be conducted after a two-year hiatus owing to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020, would return in its 40th edition with “double josh” and driven by the “Aatmanirbharta” and “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” engines, according to Mr Goyal.

He praised the organising organisation, the Indian Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), for putting on the show in such a short amount of time and with such a big number of exhibitors (over 3,000), indicating that the world views India as a “trusted partner.”

Mr Goyal stated that the first four months of the current fiscal year saw the largest ever FDI influx of $27 billion. Exports also reached a new record, with $ 232 billion in merchandise exports in April-October 2021, up 54% from the same period the previous year.
