India in touch with Pak to implement ICJ’s decision in Jadhav case: sources

New Delhi: India is in touch with Pakistan to ensure the implementation of the decision of the International Court of Justice in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case. Official sources gave this information. Jadhav, a retired Indian Navy officer, was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court in April 2017 on charges of espionage and terrorism. Later, India reached the ICJ against Pakistan, denying Jadhav access to diplomatic access and challenging the death penalty.

In its decision in the case on July 17 last year, the ICJ ordered Pakistan to conduct an effective review of Jadhav’s sentence and to grant him diplomatic access without delay. According to sources, India is in touch with Pakistan through diplomatic channels to implement the decision of ICJ.
