New Delhi: A big meeting is going to be held on June 6 in connection with the ongoing Indo-China border dispute in Ladakh. Quoting sources, it has been claimed that there will be talks between the officers of the rank of Lieutenant General of the army of both countries to resolve the dispute. This will be the first time that there will be a discussion or meeting at the level of Lieutenant General of the two countries. 14 Corps Commander Lt Gen Harinder Singh has held this dialogue. Earlier on Tuesday (June 2), there was a conversation between the officers of the Major General level, but no result was reached from this meeting. China and India also tried to negotiate at the Brigadier level but that too failed.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump discussed various issues on Tuesday (June 2), including the situation on the India-China border, the Covid-19 epidemic and the need to reform the WHO. The two leaders have held talks at a time when Trump said he had spoken to Modi, who was not in a ‘good mood’ about the border issue with China. Sources in the government denied any ‘recent talks’ between the two leaders here. Trump also offered to mediate between India and China. The two leaders had earlier held talks on hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) on April 4, 2020.
