New Delhi: There has been a terrorist attack by ambushing army personnel in Chandel district of Manipur. The terrorists first detonated the IED and then opened fire on the soldiers. This district is about 100 km from the capital Imphal.
According to sources, three personnel of four Assam Rifles unit were killed and 6 were seriously injured in the terror attack. The terrorists are said to be from the local group People’s Liberation Army in Chandel district.
After the attack, search operation is being carried out by the army. With this, the vigil has been increased along the Indo-Myanmar border. The matter is still awaiting more information.
It is noteworthy that in November last year, there was a terrorist attack on the Assam Rifles camp in Chandel district. Then bombs were thrown in the army camp. The army gave a befitting reply to the terrorists after which they fled to the nearest mountainous region. There were no casualties of the army in this attack.
