Meerut: Abhinav Chaudhary of Meerut was killed in the MiG-21 crash on Thursday night in Moga, Punjab. The martyrdom of fighter pilot Abhinav Chaudhary in the Air Force has been mourning at the house at Gangasagar Colony in Meerut. The family of Abhinav Chaudhary, originally from Baghpat district, had been living in Meerut for quite some time. They were married on 25 December 2019.
According to the information received, an IAF MiG-21 Bison aircraft crashed during heavy rain in a field in Punjab’s Moga district, killing its pilot Squadron Leader Abhinav Choudhary.
The aircraft was on a training sortie from Suratgarh in Rajasthan when it crashed in Langeana village on Thursday night, said Moga Superintendent of Police Gurdeep Singh.
The pilot’s body was found about two kilometres from the crash site, barely 200 metres from a couple of big ‘havelis’. Had the aircraft crashed over these houses, it could have caused heavy casualties, Moga SP Gurdeep Singh told media.
Abhinav’s father Satyendra Chaudhary told that since childhood he had succeeded in getting selected in RIMC in the first attempt . Abhinandan was his senior. Abhinav Chaudhary has worked on the same posting with Abhinandan. It has been informed by the Air Force that Abhinav’s body will come by air to Hindon Air Force Station and then via road to Gangasagar Colony in Meerut.
