Haldia: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday underlined the importance of his dream project ‘Ek Desh, Ek Gas Grid’ and said that he wants to make Bengal a major industrial hub again.
Addressing a function at Haldia Petrochem here on Sunday, Mr. Modi said, “The new project will change the landscape in Haldia. ‘One country, one gas grid’ is required. The socio-economic scenario of eastern part of India including Bengal will change. The importance of Haldia will increase further. “
The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several projects at a function of the Petroleum Ministry in Haldia. Shri Modi inaugurated BPCL’s LPG Terminal, Dhobi-Durgapur Natural Gas Line and a rail overbridge at Ranichak.
Mr. Modi said, “Many people will benefit from the natural gas line project. Natural gas line projects will reduce pollution levels. Lack of gas in eastern India was pushing back industrialization. If new projects are started, the problem will be solved and employment will increase. We want to make Bengal a leading industrial center again. “
