Hyderabad scientist claims, third wave of corona has started in the country

New Delhi: Fears are being raised about the third wave of corona in the country, but a prominent scientist from Hyderabad has said that the third wave of corona has arrived. He claims that on July 4, the third wave of Corona has knocked in the country. This claim has been made by Dr. Vipin Srivastava, Physicist and Vice Chancellor of University of Hyderabad.

According to the news of TOI, Dr. Vipin Srivastava has said that the number of new cases of corona infection and deaths indicate that the third wave of corona has arrived on July 4. He said that a similar trend was seen in the first week of February 2021, when the second wave of corona came. After which it reached its peak in April. Srivastava has been involved in the analysis of infection statistics and mortality for the last 15 years.

Dr. Srivastava has prepared a metric named ‘Daily Death Load’ (DDL) on the basis of data of 461 days of deaths due to corona. He says that the DDL metrics indicate that the third wave of corona has arrived on July 4. He has calculated this on the basis of the ratio of deaths due to corona in 24 hours and active cases during the same period. In this, this ratio comes negative when the number of recovering patients is more than new cases of infection. A favorable situation arises when the DDL is low or negative.
