Bharuch: 5 people have died in a fire caused by a massive explosion at a chemical factory in Dahej, Gujarat. While 57 people have been injured. The blast occurred in a factory located in the industrial area of Dahej. In pictures shared on social media, a huge gust of smoke appeared from the top of the chemical plant, 10 fire brigade vehicles were engaged in extinguishing the fire.
Superintendent of Police of Bharuch District R. V. Chudasama said, “So far 5 personnel have been confirmed dead. Some bodies have been recovered from the factory while others died in the hospital. ”The Superintendent of Police said that 40 injured personnel have been admitted to various hospitals in Bharuch and Vadodara.
The district collector gave an update on the incident. ‘The fire has been extinguished, keeping in mind that highly flammable chemical stores were stored in this factory premises, as a precaution, we have evacuated 4800 people from two nearby villages to safe places.
