The Centre has decided to open the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor from tomorrow to allow pilgrims from India to visit the venerated shrine in Pakistan ahead of Gurpurab.

On Tuesday, Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted, “In a landmark move that would benefit vast numbers of Sikh pilgrims, PM @Narendramodi government has decided to re-open the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor starting tomorrow, Nov 17,”
Covid-19 limits, according to reports, might include social separation, double vaccination, RT-PCR testing within 72 hours, and a limit on the number of people exposed. The restoration of the corridor might pay political rewards in Punjab, which goes to the polls early next year.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, India and Pakistan inked an agreement on the parameters for the operationalization of the Shri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor at Zero Point, International Boundary, Dera Baba Nanak on October 24, 2019.

Members from the Ministry of External Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Home Affairs, as well as representatives from the Punjab government, attended the meeting.
