Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s cabinet has sent a new proposal to Governor Kalraj Mishra for convening the assembly session from 31 July. This Governor Kalraj Mishra has also got a new proposal of the government. The Gehlot government claims that they have a majority in the new proposal. At the same time, on the new proposal, the governor said that he is verifying it. The vote of confidence is not included in the proposal’s agenda. This is the third proposal sent by the Gehlot government to call the assembly session.
Earlier, the Cabinet meeting at CM Gehlot’s residence lasted for two hours after the Governor returned the proposal for the Assembly session. After the meeting ended, the ministers in the Gehlot government, Pratap Singh Khachariwas and Harish Chaudhary, said that the answers to all the questions of the governor have been prepared. It is our right to call the session. He said that we want the session to be called on 31 July. We have answered whatever questions the governor asked.
Last Friday, Governor Kalraj Mishra had refused to accede to Ashok Gehlot’s call for an Assembly session to prove his government’s majority, and sought a reply on six points from the state government, including about the reason to call a session of the Assembly for a floor test.
Following this, the Rajasthan chief minister, in a late-night meeting on Friday, discussed the six points raised by the Governor for calling an assembly session.
Then, Gehlot submitted a fresh proposal on Sunday and listed Coronavirus and economy as the agenda for the special session.
