Fugitive diamond businessman Mehul Choksi again missing in Antigua

New Delhi: Fugitive diamond trader Mehul Choksi has reportedly gone missing in the Caribbean island nation of Antigua and Barbuda. The police have been looking for him since Sunday. The local media institute ‘AntiguaNewsroom’ quoted Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney on Tuesday as saying that the police were “trying to locate Indian businessman Mehul Choksi” who is “speculating” about his disappearance.

Choksi, an accused in the over Rs 13,500 crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud case along with his nephew Nirav Modi, has been residing in Antigua and Berbuda since January 4, 2018.

He obtained his citizenship for Antigua and Barbuda via the citizenship by investment programme.
