External affairs ministry’s statement on violent clash with China

New Delhi: Amid the escalation of the Indo-China border, Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman Anurag Shrivastava said on Tuesday that talks were going on at the military and diplomatic level to resolve the border dispute. He said, ‘On June 6, there was a good meeting of senior commanders. This was followed by several meetings between ground commanders’.

Srivastava further said that we hoped that everything would go well. The Chinese side went backwards in the Galvan Valley honoring the LAC, but a violent skirmish ensued on 15 June after China unilaterally tried to change the situation. People on both sides died in this, it could have been avoided. At the same time, he also said that India has a responsible attitude towards border management. India does all the work within its border in LAC, we also expect such from China.

It is worth noting that today in the Galvan valley of Ladakh, there has been violent clashes between the soldiers on both sides, in which one officer and two soldiers of India have been killed.
