New Delhi: Farmers Bharat Bandh was completely successful against agricultural bills. The maximum impact of the bandh was seen in Punjab and Haryana. In Punjab, farmers in many cities including Amritsar, Faridkot gave a stay on the railway track. In view of the farmers’ agitation, the Railways terminated 13 pairs of trains going to Punjab before reaching Punjab. Apart from this, 14 trains have been canceled.
While on the one hand farmers in Punjab blocked railway tracks while sitting on the railway lines, on the other hand, Karnataka farmers stopped traffic despite the deployment of heavy police force on Karnataka, Tamil Nadu High Way under the flag of Farmers Association.
In western Uttar Pradesh, Baghpat, Barout, Khekra, Ramala, Titri, along with other areas blocked the flywheel. The farmers took the hookah and took to the streets due to which no vehicle could pass through these areas. There was a long queue of tractors and trolleys on the national highway adjoining the capital Delhi.
Farmers sitting on these with hookahs were shouting anti-Modi slogans. In the National Capital Region, Noida, when farmers surrounded the routes, the administration was forced to withdraw traffic from other routes to deal with the traffic.
In Bihar, the farmers led by the RJD came out on the streets, ahead, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was riding on a tractor, while waving green flags behind them, the farmers started supporting the bandh. While on one hand the Congress was open on the streets in support of these farmers, on the other hand RJD, Samajwadi Party, Akali Dal, AAP, TMC were also supporting these farmers.
The 25 states of the country took to the streets raising the voice of the withdrawal of the anti-farmer bill. Police also used force in some places, despite its farmers persisting. The farmers demand that these laws be withdrawn and the support price be guaranteed.
Randeep Singh Surjewala of the Congress said that while Chief Minister, Modi had spoken about making the MSP legally mandatory, he asked what happened today that one Modi could not remember the other Modi. Rahul Gandhi, while supporting the Bharat Bandh, remarked that now new agricultural laws will enslave our farmers.
