Exports of oxygen up 700% compared to January 2020

New Delhi: According to government statistics, the export of oxygen from the country of Corona era has doubled. This information has been received from the government data. Today, oxygen demand has risen sharply in the country amidst wildly increasing cases of corona. Reports of corona patients dying due to lack of oxygen continue to be reported

During fiscal year 2020, only 4,500 MT of oxygen was exported from the country, but since then it has doubled for no apparent reason.

As compared to January 2020, when 352 metric tonnes of oxygen was exported from India, there has been a massive increase of 734 percent in oxygen exports in January 2021. In December 2020, the country exported 2,193 metric tonnes of oxygen, which is 308 per cent higher than the export of 538 metric tonnes of oxygen made in December 2019.

The export figures for February and March 2021 have not been made public at the moment.

At a time when there are conditions of oxygen emergency in many states of the country, at this time these figures raise questions on the policy of the government.
