New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry has said that the delta variant is presently in 80 countries of the world. It is also there in India and it has been kept in the category of ‘Variants of Concern’. During the press briefing of the ministry, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan told that Delta Plus variants are currently in 9 countries. UK, US, Japan, Russia, India, Portugal, Switzerland, Nepal and China. He said that there are 22 cases of Delta Plus in India and at present it has been kept in the category of ‘Variants of Interest’. Cases of Delta Plus variants have been found in Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra.
A letter has been written to the states asking how to deal with the Delta Plus variant. We do not want the delta plus variant to go ahead. Experts believe that the delta plus variant can cause the third wave of corona in the country. . The Russian vaccine Sputnik V has come late, but now it has been found on Covishield and Covaxin that both the vaccines are effective on the delta variant.
