Expelled Minister Harak Singh Rawat is likely to join Congress

Harak Singh Rawat, a former Uttarakhand minister who was expelled from the BJP six years ago, announced on Monday that he will join the Congress without conditions and work for Congress to make them win in the next Assembly elections.

In Uttarakhand, Harak Singh Rawat also stated that the Congress party will form the government. On Sunday, the BJP expelled Rawat, citing indiscipline as the reason.

The decision to remove Harak Singh Rawat from the cabinet was made at the BJP’s Uttarakhand unit’s core group meeting on Saturday at the party’s headquarters in Delhi.

Union home minister Amit Shah, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, and state-poll in-charge Pralhad Joshi were among those who were included in the meeting.

Why was Harak Singh Rawat expelled from the party?

There was also dissatisfaction among the BJP’s grassroot workers. The workers were dissatisfied with the amount of attention lavished on the leaders who joined the BJP from the Congress, including Harak Singh Rawat.

Harak Singh Rawat had just left a cabinet meeting in which Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister, was present. As per the reports, the reason for his dissatisfaction was the lack of a proposal for Kotdwar Medical College at the time, though analysts believe he was requesting a ticket for his daughter-in-law from the Lansdowne seat.
