New Delhi: Minor tremors were felt in Delhi on Friday with a magnitude of 2.2 on the Richter scale. The National Seismology Center (NCS) said that the earthquake occurred in the northwest of Delhi at 11.28 am. For the fourth time within a month, earthquake tremors have been felt in Delhi.

Let me tell you, there was an earthquake on May 10 in Delhi, the intensity of which was measured 3.4 on the Richter scale. The tremors were felt at 1.45 pm. The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of five kilometers from the surface. The epicenter of the earthquake was near Wazirpur in north-east Delhi. The centers of tremors of magnitude 3.5 and 2.7, which were felt on April 12 and 13, respectively, were also recorded in the same location and its vicinity. Among the five seismic zones, Delhi falls in the fourth zone.

According to official figures, tremors were felt in the national capital of magnitude 2.8 in 2004 while earthquake of magnitude 3.4 in 2001.

At the same time, a shock of moderate intensity earthquake was felt in Nepal late on 13 May. The intensity of the earthquake was measured at 5.3. The National Seismic Center had reported that the tremors were felt at 11.45 pm. Its center was in Dolakha district, 180 km east of the capital Kathmandu.
