New Delhi: The Special Cell of Delhi Police has seized over 350 kg of heroin worth Rs 2,500 crore. Delhi Police has also arrested four accused in connection with the drug racket. This is a major achievement of Delhi Police against international drug traffickers. Of the four arrested, one is an Afghan national, one from Punjab and one from Kashmir.
According to Delhi Police, it was supplied in legitimate export material from Afghanistan through Iran port and then sent to Mumbai. He has also built a makeshift factory in MP. His Faridabad location was also busted. Last month, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) busted a drug racket operating through the darknet and online pharmacies.
Eight people were arrested as a result of the operation and 2.2 million psychotropic tablets, 70,000 codeine based cough syrups (CBCS) and 245 kg of psychotropic drugs were confiscated. The NCB had conducted raids in various parts of Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh as part of its special operation against drug trafficking.
