New Delhi: Delhi Police on Tuesday registered 22 FIRs in the case of violence in the capital. A case has also been registered against several farmer leaders on behalf of the police. Among these leaders are Darshan Pal, Rajinder Singh, Balbir Singh Rajewal, Buta Singh Burjgil and Joginder Singh Ugra.
BKU national spokesperson Rakesh Tikait and Yogendra Yadav of Swaraj India are also named in the FIR. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha has accused the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Samiti of conspiracy. SKM said that anti-social elements like Deep Sidhu and KMSS tried to end the peasant movement under the conspiracy.
A Kisan Morcha under the chairmanship of Balbir Singh Rajewal held an emergency meeting and discussed the violent incidents in Delhi which concluded that the central government was badly shaken by this peasant movement. Therefore, a dirty conspiracy was hatched against the peaceful opposition of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Samiti and other farmer organizations.
A statement issued after an emergency meeting of the United Kisan Morcha said that 15 days after the start of the Kisan agitation established their protest site, they were not part of the joint protesting organizations. When the farmers ‘organizations announced a program of farmers’ parade on 26 January, other anti-social elements like Deep Sidhu, along with other farmers ‘organizations, tried to thwart the farmers’ movement.
It is noteworthy that during the tractor parade, the protesting farmers entered the Red Fort in the afternoon on Tuesday. Hundreds of farmers reached the ramparts and put two flags here at the exact spot where the Prime Minister hoists the tricolor on 15 August every year. The Minister of Culture and Tourism along with the Archaeological Survey of India officials inspected the Red Fort. He has directed the Ministry of Home Affairs to submit the report at the earliest.
