New Delhi: Delhi Police has registered a case of treason against Dr Zafarul Islam Khan, chairman of the Minority Commission, for his statement on social media.
He apologized on Friday for a controversial comment posted on social media. Khan said in a statement that a tweet from him at a time when the country was facing an emergency was “at the wrong time” and “insensitive”.
In the case of Zafarul Islam Khan, the cyber cell of Delhi Police is investigating. A man from South Delhi had lodged a complaint against him. The complaint said that he had written a provocative post which had created a rift in the society.
It should be noted that Zafarul Islam Khan in his tweet on April 28 thanked Kuwait for standing with Indian Muslims.
