Delhi Launches RTO Services Sitting at Home

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal started faceless public transportation in the city. Thirty-three transportation services, including online learner’s license examinations, car registration, and permits, were made anonymous and online as part of this effort. Faceless transportation services, according to Kejriwal, are a revolutionary move for India in the twenty-first century.

“It’s a huge step forward. There will be no more files or offices. Everything can be done from the comfort of one’s own home using a computer. There’s no need to contact brokers or middlemen as well. People will, however, be required to come to the office for driving and vehicle fitness exams. It is a significant stride forward for India in the twenty-first century. It will happen all throughout India in the not-too-distant future. True independence would be achieved the day people are free of offices, intermediaries, lines, and files”, according to Kejriwal.

People may now apply for an online learners’ license exam from the comfort of their own homes through the faceless services of the Transport department. These services are available to anybody who has an Aadhaar card. A One-Time Password can be used to fulfil KYC. Aadhaar authentication may be used to verify documents and electronic signatures. A person may take their learner license test from home thanks to an Aadhaar-based verification system and AI-based facial recognition technology with a feature mapping function.

Those who do not have an Aadhaar card can fill out an online application. They will, however, be required to provide papers, pictures, and signatures. People can get a faceless service by going to transport.delhi.gov.in and filling out an application for the necessary paperwork. An online test is required to get an e-learner license.

Applications will be screened, papers will be checked, and the application will be authorized for further processing by the motor license officials or motor vehicle inspector. The requested paperwork will be sent to the applicant through express mail. They can also download it via a link provided to their registered cell phone number through SMS.

The Delhi government’s Transport Department has released standard operating procedures (SOP) on using these faceless services. The driving test for obtaining a license and vehicle fitness certifications are the two services for which a person must visit the RTO.
