New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday made a veiled attacked at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his ‘andolan jeevi’ jibe at protesters, saying ‘Crony-jeevi hai jo, desh bech raha hai wo’: the one who is selling the country is a friend of crony capitalists.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the Wayanad MP, using #PSU_PSB_Sale, posted in Hindi: ‘Crony-जीवी है जो देश बेच रहा है वो। (the one who is selling the country is a friend of crony capitalists).’
Earlier, during the day, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram tweeted that he was a “proud andolanjeevi”, and the “quintessential andolanjeevi was Mahatma Gandhi.”
On Monday, Mr Modi during his reply to the President’s address in the Rajya Sabha, said, “There is a new crop of andolan-jeevi. They live for protests. They look for ways to start a new movement…The country needs to be aware of these andolan-jeevi.’
