Covid Rises in the IAS Training Institute, LBSNAA

On Wednesday, at least 85 trainee Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officers and teaching staff at Mussoorie’s Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) tested positive for Covid-19.

The number could climb, according to Rajiv Dikshit, Dehradun’s nodal health officer, who added that the students were checked after arriving at the academy via Dehradun on Sunday.

On the academy campus, the administration has established a containment zone.

A field study and research programme with 489 civil service officers from the 96th foundation course and academic members began on December 27. Before becoming infected, IAS trainees travelled across the country to villages near international borders. They’ve been told to stay at home and get the medication they need.
