New Delhi: According to government data, the country is slowly seeing a decrease in new cases of corona. On Saturday, 2,40,766 new patients of Covid-19 were found positive in the country. At the same time, Corona killed 3,736 people in the last 24 hours.
After 35 days in the country, the number of new cases has come down to 2.5 lakhs. Earlier on April 16, 2,34,002 people were found to be corona infected, during which 3,54,825 people have also recovered. After which the number of active patients in the country saw a decline of 1,17,877.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 21,23,782 sample tests for corona virus were conducted in India yesterday, a total of 32,86,07,937 sample tests have been done till date.

Statistics of most affected states
- There have been 35,873 new cases of corona, 25,776 recoveries and 448 deaths in Tamil Nadu in the last 24 hours.
- 31,183 new Kovid-19 cases, 61,766 recoveries and 451 deaths have been reported in Karnataka in the last 24 hours.
- In Maharashtra, 26,133 people were found positive in the last 24 hours. 40,294 people recovered and 682 people died.
- Andhra Pradesh has reported 19,981 new Corona cases, 18,336 recoveries and 118 deaths in the last 24 hours.
- In West Bengal, 18,863 new cases of corona, 19,202 recoveries and 154 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours.
- In Uttar Pradesh, 5,964 people were found infected on Saturday. 17,540 people recovered and 218 people died.
- In the last 24 hours in Bihar, 4375 new positives were found and 8676 infected have recovered but 103 people lost the battle of life.
- In Chhattisgarh, there have been 4,328 new cases of Kovid-19, 9,631 discharges and 103 deaths in the last 24 hours.
- In Gujarat, 4,205 new cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours, 8,445 recoveries and 54 deaths.
- In Madhya Pradesh, 3,844 new cases of corona, 9327 recoveries and 89 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours.
- In Uttarakhand, 2,903 new cases of corona have been reported in one day, 8,164 have been cured and 64 deaths have occurred due to corona.
- 2,260 people were found positive in the last 24 hours in Delhi. 6,453 people recovered and 182 people died.
