New Delhi: On the second anniversary of the Pulwama attack, the Congress, while paying tribute to the martyrs, has accused the Narendra Modi government of the Center that the country is facing a crisis on two fronts, despite this the government has weakened the morale of the army. In a press conference held at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi, Congress leader and former Defense Minister AK Antony said that the government is not paying attention to national security while the country is facing a war-like situation on two fronts.
Antony said, Pakistan is sending terrorists in our country, China is encroaching on many points from Arunachal to Ladakh and there are heavy deployment of troops. Our army is there for 24 hours but the government is not supporting it. The former defense minister said that the Chinese Navy is also infiltrating our border. In the midst of all this, the central government has made a modest increase in the budget necessary to protect the borders.
In a press conference with Congress spokespersons Randeep Surjewala and Kapil Sibal, Antony said, “China’s threat is increased not only on the land border but also on the water border, but the government is dropping the morale of the army by not increasing the budget.” He said, “Galvan valley was never disputed. Not even in 1962. It was always a part of India but for the first time our army has to be martyred there.” The Congress leader said that the agreement to leave its patrolling point with disengagement and create a buffer zone is like kneeling.
