Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday accused the Congress of supporting those who defame Assam’s tea.
Addressing the election meeting in Chhabua, Shri Modi said that he was saddened to learn that an old party, which ruled the country for 50 to 55 years, is supporting those who defame the famous tea of India. He said that if a chaiwala does not understand your problem, then who will understand.
The Prime Minister, referring to the controversial toolkit of Sweden’s environmentalist Greta Thunberg, said that there were many ways for farmers to participate in the protest. He said that its purpose was to discredit the image of yoga and tea in India.
Mr. Modi said, “The Congress government and its policies have damaged Assam socially, culturally and geographically.” Appealing to the people of the state to vote for the BJP, he said that BJP’s policy, leadership and intention are noble.
The Prime Minister said, “Congress has neither leader nor policy nor ideology.” He alleged that the Congress has become so weak that it can go to any extent and join hands with anyone.
