New Delhi: A group of health experts has said that there is community transmission of corona virus in the country. The group of health experts includes two doctors from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) besides the doctor of AIIMS. So far, the Union Health Ministry has ruled out community transmission. Community transmission occurs when a person succumbs without coming into contact with a known infected person.
A report prepared by experts from the Indian Public Health Association (IPHA), Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM) and Indian Association of Epidemologists (IAE) on Corona virus has been sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The report states that it is not reasonable to expect that the corona virus epidemic can be eliminated at this stage as the community transmission of the disease is taking place.
The report stated, “Policymakers clearly relied on general administrative bureaucrats. Interaction with science experts was limited in the fields of epidemiology, public health, preventive medicine and social scientists. “It states that India is paying a heavy price for humanitarian crises and disease outbreaks.”

Over 40 thousand cases of corona virus have been reported in India in the last one week. Despite this, the government has been consistently saying that there is no threat of community transmission in the country.
