CM Yogi recommends CBI probe in Hathras gangrape case

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has recommended a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in the Hathras gang-rape cum murder case.

Interestingly, the recommendation of the Adityanath government comes close on the heels of the visit by Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to the family of the victim.

For the past two days, the state government had banned the media and leaders from visiting the victim’s family, citing the investigation of the SIT team. Even the victim’s family alleges that their phones were snatched and not allowed to go out.

On behalf of the Yogi government today, Additional Chief Secretary of UP Home Avnish Awasthi and DGP of UP reached to meet the aggrieved family. After this in the evening, Avneesh Awasthi said in a press conference in Lucknow that the investigation of SIT is going on. Will do justice to the victim’s family.

But in the tweet issued from the official Twitter account of the UP CM office happening on Saturday night, it has been said that the CBI inquiry order has been given.
