Mumbai: The Bombay High Court has directed the CBI to conduct a preliminary inquiry into allegations of corruption by Parambir Singh on Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh within 15 days.
It is worth mentioning that Parambir Singh had filed a petition in the Bombay High Court, in which he made a serious charge against Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and demanded a CBI inquiry.
According to Parambir’s allegations, Deshmukh had instructed many police officers to recover Rs 100 crore every month. After his statement, there was a stir in the politics of Maharashtra. Even till the resignation of the Home Minister, clouds were looming.
Earlier in the hearing, the court had reprimanded Parambir Singh and asked why the FIR had not been registered till now. The court told Singh that even a senior police officer like you is not following the legal process. During the hearing, the court said that until the FIR is not registered, how can the CBI inquiry be ordered?
