BSP Appoints Umashankar Singh as Legislature Party Leader

Following the resignation of Mubarakpur MLA Shah Alam alias Guddu Jamali from the Azamgarh district’s Mubarakpur seat, BSP national president Mayawati named Umashankar Singh as BSP Legislature Party leader on Friday. Mayawati has said that the governments are not abiding by the Constitution on Constitution Day.

The federal and state governments should conduct a comprehensive investigation into whether these parties are adhering to the Constitution. That is, our party has chosen not to participate in the Central and State Governments’ Constitution Day celebrations.

Mayawati claimed that the country’s constitution is not being implemented today. In most departments, he claims, the reserve quota for SC/ST and OBC groups is insufficient. In the private sector, no reservations have been made for them. The federal and state governments are not yet prepared to pass legislation in this area. Such regimes are not permitted to observe Constitution Day.

Mayawati, the leader of the BSP, stated, “Today, my only suggestion is that the federal government and the state governments assess if they are effectively obeying the constitution.” On the occasion of Constitution Day, Mayawati stated that the farmers’ movement had completed one year. The federal government has removed three agricultural legislation, which is understandable, but it should also accommodate other requests.
