New Delhi: The Election Commission on Friday issued guidelines for Bihar assembly elections, general elections and by-elections during the coronavirus epidemic. In its new guidelines, the Commission has said that candidates can file nominations online. Also, people have to wear face masks during election related activities.

The Election Commission will provide facials PPE kits as well as face masks and hand sanitizers to voters to children leading up to the polling booth with their parents.

At the entrance of the hall, thermal screening of all persons in the premises used for election purposes will be done.

The Election Commission said that the option of postal ballot facility has been extended to voters who have been marked as ‘persons with disabilities’, people over the age of 80, people employed in notified essential services and who covid-19 positive / Possibly infected.

The guideline states that a maximum of five people can be with the candidate for door to door campaigning. As per the guidelines, the option of postal ballot facility (postal ballot) will be available for persons with disabilities, persons above 80 years of age, persons posted in notified essential services and persons infected with covid-19.
