Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal leaders, MLAs and activists staged protests across Bihar today against the Bihar Special Armed Police Bill, RJD MLAs also gheraoed outside the assembly speaker’s chamber to protest against the bill. After this, Assembly Speaker Vinay Kumar Sinha called the police along with the Marshal in the assembly and then the police orgy started after that. Several legislators and journalists were hurt in this uproar in the Bihar Assembly on Tuesday. RJD MLAs accused the police of assaulting the assembly, which has brought the politics of Bihar to a standstill.

RJD MLA Satish Das suffered a serious injury in the assembly that caused the ruckus, after which he was taken to the hospital for treatment on a stretcher. At the same time, CPI MLA Satyendra Yadav and RJD MLA Reetlal Yadav were also injured in this situation. RJD MLA Satish Das alleged that the police beat him up badly. An ambulance was called for the injured legislators and he was hospitalized on a stretcher.

The Bihar Special Armed Police Bill was passed in the evening amid heavy opposition from opposition members. Earlier, the copy of the police bill was torn as well as an attempt was made to snatch the copy of the bill from Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad. However, this was strongly opposed by the NDA MLAs. When the bill was introduced in the evening, picketing and slogans started inside the House and outside the Speaker’s office.
