New Delhi: Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati has raised questions on the foundation stone of Ram temple in Ayodhya on August 5. He said that it is not the right time to lay the foundation, it is an inauspicious moment.
Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati said, “We do not want any position in the trust of Ram Mandir. We only want that the temple should be constructed properly and the foundation stone should be laid at the right time. But this is an inauspicious moment.
Notably, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust has proposed two dates in August for laying the foundation stone of a Ram temple in Ayodhya.
The trust had invited Prime Minister Modi to lay the foundation stone of the temple either on August 3 or 5.
A five-judge Supreme Court bench led by then CJI Ranjan Gogoi ruled in favour of Ram Lalla and said the entire disputed land spread over 2.7 acres will be handed over to a trust formed by the government, which will monitor the construction of a Ram temple at the site.
