Being a woman is a crime in UP: Priyanka Gandhi

Lucknow: Seeing the ever-increasing incidents of crime against women in Uttar Pradesh, Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi said that such crimes are being committed against women in the state that the soul trembles, but the state government is sleeping.

She said that in Mathura, the goons, who were harassing the girl for a year, entered the house and threw her from the terrace, while in Hamirpur, the girl was forced to commit suicide due to molestation. Seeing such incidents, it seems that the safety of women in the jungle raj of the state is also dependent on God.

Uttar Pradesh government is busy in power struggle. Whereas the incidents of crime against women are increasing continuously in Uttar Pradesh. The Yogi government is so complacent that even the data given by the central institution NCRB on the increased crime against women in the state is being denied. In the year 2020, according to the data given by the NCRB in Uttar Pradesh, one rape incident is reported every two hours, while rape against children is reported every 90 minutes. According to the NCRB, in the year 2018, a total of 4322 rape cases were registered in Uttar Pradesh. This simply means that around 12 rape cases were happening every day. In the year 2018, 59445 cases of crime against women were registered. Which means that 162 cases of crime against women were reported every day. Which is 7 percent more than the year 2017.

Not only statistics, if the news of the last two days is also considered as the basis, then Uttar Pradesh has become a crime state. A shocking incident of rape of a 2-year-old girl has come to light in Bahraich. At the same time, in Lakhimpur also a minor Dalit minor girl is murdered after being raped. At the same time, in Agra, four people, including a former head, gang-raped a woman on a tubewell and are being threatened with death if a complaint is lodged in the police station, due to which the family has been forced to flee. The Uttar Pradesh government is with the criminals, women are forced to bear the crime.
