Ayodhya is in the heart of every Indian, its cultural importance should increase: PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that the city of Ayodhya is culturally situated in the heart of every Indian and therefore the work of its development should be done with healthy public participation in such a way that its cultural importance can be increased to the maximum.

Shri Modi reviewed the development plan of Ayodhya through video conference here on Saturday. The officials of Uttar Pradesh made a presentation on the occasion related to the development projects of Ayodhya. The development of Ayodhya is being conceptualized as a spiritual center, global tourism hub and a sustainable smart city.

The Prime Minister said that Lord Ram had the ability to bring people together, keeping in mind that the work of development of Ayodhya should be based on healthy participation and youth should take special part in it. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and several other senior officials were also present on the occasion.

The Prime Minister was briefed about various proposed and upcoming infrastructure projects to increase connectivity with Ayodhya, including expansion of airport, railway station, bus stand, roads and highways.

Discussions were also held about a packed town which would include ashrams, monasteries, hotels and buildings of different states for the devotees. A world class reception center and museum will also be built. Special attention is being paid to infrastructural development around the Saryu river and its ghats. The operation of cruise in the river was also discussed.

The Prime Minister said that Ayodhya is a city that is culturally rooted in the heart of every Indian. Our best traditions and development should be reflected in Ayodhya. Ayodhya is an example of both the spiritual and the transcendent. The nature of this city should match with the future infrastructural development which will be good for all.
