New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that in view of the increasing use of technology in every field, the armed forces need to be equipped with state-of-the-art technology so that it can face the challenges firmly as the ‘Army of the future’.
Shri Modi said this while addressing the concluding session on the third and last day of the Joint Commander’s Conference of the three armies at Kevadia in Gujarat on Saturday. He said that keeping in mind the rapid changes in technology, our armies should imbibe state-of-the-art technology to enable them to face new challenges as the ‘Army of the future’.
Emphasizing the importance of promoting indigenization in the national security system, the Prime Minister said that it should not only be in the matter of equipment and weapons but it should also be reflected in the principles, procedures and traditions related to the armed forces.
Emphasizing the need for greater planning of manpower in both the military and civilian parts of the national security apparatus, he emphasized on a rapid decision-making system based on a holistic approach.
