Earlier the 12000 km Long Pratigya Yatra Was Also Deferred
One after other the proposed programmers and events of the Congress in the run-up to the upcoming state assembly election has halted. The latest postponement in this regard is of the Meerut rally which was all set to be addressed by AICC general secretary and UP in-charge Priyanka Vadra on September 29.
Just before this, the party has also deferred the much-publicized yatra ” vada hum nibhayenge (we will fulfill the promises) which is slated to commence from September 21 from five different centers covering 12000 km across the state. It was decided with the consultation of Priyanka Vadra that five leaders belonging to different castes will lead this yatra to give a more representative face to the party.
It is interesting to note that only yesterday UPCC was so upbeat about the Meerut rally that it had extended the date of applying for the assembly ticket on the pretext of being busy in the Meerut rally.

However, on Saturday, the Meerut rally has been postponed for an indefinite period as no further date has been given. Though UPCC chief Ajay Kumar Lallu has confirmed that the Meerut rally has been postponed he refrained from citing the reason for the same.
The insiders claim that lackluster preparations for the rally are the reason for its deferment. “Priyanka Vadra has her own mechanism which apprised her about poor turn out about the proposed rally prompting her to postpone it” commented a party leader on condition of anonymity.

It may be recalled that ever since assuming the charge of UP, Priyanka has stressed upon strengthens the organizational setup but the exercise failed to bring desired results resulting in the postponement of programmers one after other.
