AAP alleges CM placed under house arrest, Delhi police refuted

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday alleged that Delhi Police has placed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal under house arrest.

“BJP’s Delhi Police has put Hon’ble CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal under house arrest ever since he visited farmers at Singhu Border yesterday. No one has been permitted to leave or enter his residence”, the party posted on Twitter.

Later, AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj, in a press conference, said that Delhi Police on the orders of the Ministry of Home Affairs put Mr Kejriwal under house arrest for supporting farmers protest.

The Chief Minister had on Monday visited the Singhu border where the farmers are protesting against the three new farm laws.

“The central government fears that their lies of saying everything is right will be busted if an elected head of the state supports farmers’ cause”, Bhardwaj said.

However, Delhi police refuted all charges levelled by AAP.
