While AICC general secretary and Uttar Pradesh incharge Priyanka Gandhi is camping in state capital for last three days the political corridors are abuzz with speculations that a prominent Muslim leader belonging to a prominent political family of Western UP is all set to desert Congress and join Samajwadi Party for greener pastures.
According to sources the concerned Congress leader who shot into fame while contesting 2014 Lok Sabha election.
It may be recalled that his remarks about Narendra Modi then projected PM candidate of BJP has stirred a fierce political controversy resulting in sharp polarisation on communal lines not only in state but even beyond it.
It is learnt from reliable sources that former MLA is in constant touch with the SP president and former CM Akhilesh Yadav. “He is praising SP supremo like anything among his die hard supporters and it is only a matter of time that he switches over to the SP” confided reliable sources.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi remained busy in holding parleys with party leaders taking stock of future party programmes. It is also being claimed that she has also shortlisted the names of the probable candidates for around 50 assembly seats though date of its announcement is yet to be finalised.
