New Delhi: The visas of 960 foreigners found involved in the Nizamuddin Tablighi Jamaat case have been blacklisted by the Ministry of Home Affairs. All these people came to India on tourist visas.
In addition, the Ministry has also canceled all tourist visas. Now they will never come to India.
According to the ministry, these people violated visa rules by engaging in religious activity, after which this has been lessened by the government. Also, the MHA has directed the DGP of other states like Delhi Police to take necessary legal action against all 960 foreigners involved in the Nizamuddin Markaz case under the Foreigners Act 1946 and the Disaster Management Act 2005.
According to the Union Home Ministry official, all these people had come on tourist visas, but attended the event held in Nizamuddin. These people have violated visa list rules. Because, tourist visa holders cannot attend religious ceremonies. After being blacklisted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, all these will never come to India in future.
Around 9,000 people who came in contact with him, including members of Tablighi Jamaat, have been quarantined across the country. Out of nearly 2 thousand members of the Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi, 1,804 have been quarantined while 334 people have been admitted to hospitals.
