Ahmedabad: At least 8 people have died in a horrific fire in a hospital in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The fire took place at Shrey Hospital located in Navarangpura area. Corona patients are also being treated in this hospital. Around 35 patients have also been shifted to another hospital after the incident.
Information about how this fire started, could not be found yet. It is being told that there was a fire in the ICU of the hospital. An official said the fire broke out around 3:30 AM. Five men and three women admitted to the ICU ward died in the accident. “Eight people of corona virus admitted to the ICU ward of Shrey Hospital died due to the fire,” said an official of the Ahmedabad fire department. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the kin of the deceased. At the same time, an amount of Rs 50 thousand will be provided to the injured.
The Chief Minister’s Office said in a statement that two IAS officers, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Sangeeta Singh and ASC Mukesh Puri of Urban Development Department will investigate the case.
