5.4 magnitude earthquake in Sikkim, tremors felt in North Bengal and Assam too

Gangtok: Earthquake tremors were felt in the northeastern state of Sikkim on Monday. The intensity of the earthquake has been measured at 5.4 on the Richter scale. Tremors have also been felt in North Bengal and Assam.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 25 km southeast of the capital Gangtok. Due to the earthquake, the ground felt vibration at around 8:49 pm. As per reports, earthquake tremors were felt in Assam and North Bengal apart from Sikkim. No casualties or injuries or property damage have been reported so far from the earthquake.

Earthquake tremors were also felt in neighboring parts of Bhutan and some parts of Nepal. Due to the earthquake in Sikkim, panic spread among the people and in the wake of security, people came out of the house.
