Zee5’s newest anthology film, “Lantrani,” is an amalgam of three national award-winning filmmakers: Bhaskar Hazarika, Kaushik Ganguly, and Gurvinder Singh. Their three separate films, Dharna Mana Hai, Hud Hud Dabang, and Sanitized Samachar, are all encapsulated under the ‘Lantrani” banner. Every movie in the collection depicts the ridiculous reality of India’s rural areas. Three stand-alone stories-“Dharna Mana Hai,” “Hud Hud Dabang,” and “Sanitized Samachar”-are included in “Lantrani Volume 1,” which will be available for streaming on February 9. The stories depict situations in which people turn to unusual means of survival, drawing inspiration from a variety of aspects of small-town and rural life.
The film stars Johny Lever, Jitendra Kumar, Jisshu Sengupta, Nimisha Sajayan, a well-known actor from Malayalam cinema, and Sanjay Mahanand, a well-known actor from Bhojpur. Award-winning filmmakers like Bhaskar Hazarika, Kaushik Ganguly, and Gurvinder Singh have directed the three movies. Gurvinder Singh, the director of “Dharna Mana Hai” from “Lantrani,” stated, “I always strive to lay out genuineness in my film.” In this movie, a woman from a scheduled caste is chosen to become the first Sarpanch member. She quickly learns that despite reaching the Sarpanch, she actually has no power. In an effort to challenge the system, she and her spouse start a protest outside the DDO’s office that takes an unexpected turn.
“This is a tale of a hero officers who held at a desk at the police location for 25 years,” said Kaushik Ganguly, director of “Hud Hud Dabang.” To transport a criminal to their court appearance, he is granted access to a gun and a bullet bike. After discovering more about the prisoner’s past, he chooses to allow him to go. The question of why he acts in that way is intriguing. Why does he decide to assist a criminal like this? I can’t wait for Lantrani Volume 1 on ZEE5 to debut so that viewers can solve this mystery. “People constantly tell me that cleaned Samachar is a very intriguing title,” said “Sanitized Samarchar” director Bhaskar Hazarika, highlighting his story.
In ‘Hud Hud Dabang,’ Johny Lever serves as the lead character. “I’m good at making people laugh,” he stated. “But, in Hud Hud Dabang, I tried my hand at a very different role.” This is a thrilling change, and I’m excited to see how the audience responds to me playing such an oddball role. I’ve long admired the work of the talented filmmaker Kaushik Ganguly, and working with him has been an absolute delight. When I first heard the story, I was a little skeptical, and Kaushik assured me that I wouldn’t be portraying a humorous character. I ultimately made the decision to take on this challenge, and I was thrilled with how masterfully it turned out under his guidance. It is my hope that the audience will love and cherish my character.
