Supreme Court asks Mumbai Police to submit case files in 3 days
New Delhi: In a major update in the on-going Sushant Singh Rajput’s case, the Centre has accepted Bihar government’s request to transfer the case from Mumbai Police to the CBI. This comes a day after, Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government recommended a CBI inquiry into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta stated the same before the Supreme Court, where the plea of actress Rhea Chakraborty seeking transfer of an FIR, accusing her of abetting the suicide of Sushant, from Patna to Mumbai, is currently being heard by a bench headed by Justice Hrisheksh Roy.
The apex court has also pulled up the Maharastra government over putting Bihar’s IPS officer Vinay Tiwari in quarantine. Tiwari came to Mumbai from Patna to investigate Sushant’s death case on Sunday but was “forcibly quarantined” by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
